Genius Talent has partnered with a leading hospital in Harrisonburg, VA who have an amazing full-time opportunity to join their dynamic team as Medical Sonographer. In this role, you will excel in performing diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures that demand a high level of technical expertise and independent judgment, all under the direction of a qualified physician.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and cardiac scans, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Conduct patient interviews and assessments to gather medical history and information relevant to the ultrasound procedure.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly for accurate imaging.
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images using soundwaves, paying careful attention to patient positioning and transducer placement.
  • Analyze ultrasound images in real-time, making adjustments as needed to ensure the best possible diagnostic quality.
  • Accurately document and maintain patient records, including images and pertinent clinical information in electronic medical records (EMRs).
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to relay important findings and collaborate on patient care.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment to minimize patient and staff exposure to ultrasound waves, ensuring a safe environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or a related field, or successful completion of a training program recognized by the registry board (ARRT or ARDMS).
  • Active registration with ARRT or ARDMS is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.11 - $36.80 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
